Please inform that there are four power testing stations of the Energy Corporation in the district. Out of which two are located on Baraut’s Delhi Road, the other two are located in Baghpat and the other in Khekra. With which about 2.5 lakh consumers of the district are connected. According to the Meters Department, about 250 blowers per month come to an electrical test station to change the electricity meter. That is, one thousand meters are blown in a month in all the four electrical test stations. Because nine months of this year have passed. In such a situation, till now about nine thousand meters have been burnt in the district in the last nine months.
Crores of rupees have been collected from such consumers
When a consumer takes a new electricity connection, Rs 1000 is charged from the consumer for installing the meter. In such a situation, when the consumer’s meter gets burnt, even in the name of replacing it, 1000 rupees are charged from the consumer itself. That is, till the meter is installed and blown up, a consumer has to pay 2000 rupees. Because till now nine thousand meters have been burnt in the district. So in total, one crore, 80 lakh rupees have been recovered from the consumers.
These companies supply electricity meters
Energy Corporation is supplied meter by companies including Flas, Capital, HPL, Secure, Genius, L&T, MT, Avon and Maxwell etc. According to the officials of the Energy Corporation, except three-four of these companies, the complaints of other companies burning meters are increasing day by day. In view of the increasing complaints, reminders are also sent by the department to the companies every month.
Consumer Rohit, who lives near Meher Gurdwara, says that the meter has been lying defective for a month. According to the meter, every month a bill of Rs 900 used to come, now if the meter is bad, then 1600 rupees have to be paid every month.
Sagar, son of Saroj, a consumer of Azad Nagar street number two, told that the meter was burnt in the month of August, after which the second meter was installed, but that too has been lying defunct for 15 days. Now the Energy Corporation is not taking care. Told that after the meter is damaged, now my bill is being withdrawn under IDF at Rs 1300, whereas earlier my bill used to come to Rs 600 to 700.
Rajdeep, a consumer of Fatehpur Putthi village, says that when the meter was correct, he had to pay a bill of about two to three hundred rupees every month, but now after two months of meter failure, he has to pay a bill of 1500 rupees every month.
First Gopal Singh, Executive Engineer posted on Electricity Distribution Section 1 located on Kotana Road, SDO Meters Prabhat Bhaskar posted on 1st Baraut, Electricity Testing Station located on Delhi Road of the city and SDO Ahraj Atar posted at Electricity Test Station II, says that the meter has been damaged for the last several months. complaints are increasing. The meters are tested in the laboratory and sent to the companies for replacement.
